Founded in 1974, Women’s Studio Workshop encourages the voice and vision of individual women artists by providing:

• A concentrated block of time for an artist to focus solely on her work.
• Studios with specialized printmaking, bookarts, darkroom, papermaking and ceramics equipment.
• A studio manager and interns who provide technical support and studio maintenance.
• Intensive workshops focused on developing technical skills in various media.

WSW Membership

WSW members form a community of artists and art enthusiasts sharing opportunities and resources to encourage the voice and vision of women artists and to promote awareness and support for the visual arts.

Members receive a newsletter and invitations to events and programs, and an e-mail WSW news digest with current artist opportunities. Membership also entitles you to a discount on WSW classes and studio rentals, and 10% discount at several art supply businesses, including Manny's Art Supply in New Paltz, Catskill Art and Office Supply in Kingston, Rhinebeck Artists’ Shop, and New York Central Art Supply in Manhattan.

Planned Giving

Adding a bequest in your will for WSW is a simple way to make a big difference the world of women artists.  

We would be happy to work with you and your attorney to prepare your will to include WSW. A sample of language to use in your will is included below:

“I give, devise, and bequeath to Women’s Studio Workshop, Inc., P.O. Box 489, Rosendale, New York, for its general purposes [or you indicate a specific purpose or restriction] all, [or specify an amount, property, or percentage of your estate] of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal.”

Another Planned Giving option is a Charitable Gift Annuity. With this option, you can receive an income stream for life, and a tax benefit, while leaving a gift to Women’s Studio Workshop.
