Every year WSW honors an outstanding woman
artist as part of our annual fundraising
gala. Proceeds from this fabulous event go
towards funding a studio residency for an
artist hand-picked by our honoree from our
pool of yearly applicants. Last
fall WSW was pleased to honor multidisciplinary artist Carolee Schneeman,
whose
work transformed the definition of art, especially discourse on the body, sexuality, and gender. Past honorees included Judy
Pfaff and Mary Frank and Joan Snyder.
The 2012 Carolee Schneeman Artists Residency Grant
is a 6 week residency for artists working
in the printmaking studios and includes a
$2100 stipend, $500 toward materials used
during the residency, a travel stipend up
to $250, housing and unlimited studio use.
The selected artist will be provided with
technical advice and assistance in production.
The Joan Snyder Residency awardee will be
chosen from this years Studio
Residency applications.
