Since 1983, Women's Studio Workshop's Internship
Program in
Rosendale New York has been providing young artists with the opportunity to learn first-hand how women can manage productive, successful careers as professional artists. WSW interns learn techniques for developing their work, build various new computer and studio-based skills, and are introduced to methods of gaining funding and exhibition opportunities. Interns also learn about the management of a renowned arts organization.
The success of WSW's Internship Program can be measured
by the long list of former interns who have received
prestigious awards and prominent positions in the
field. Many return to work on their own projects
under the auspices of WSW's competitive Grants and Fellowship programs.
Interns work full-time during their term. They are
encouraged to work on their own art and are provided
access to all WSW studios in their non-working hours.
WSW provides a private room in our on-site housing
and a stipend of $300/month.
