au•gust art festival project

For au•gust art festival, Margeaux Walter is creating a live performance throughout the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail with performers camouflaged into the environment. Much of the performance is being adapted to the surrounding landscape, allowing the performers to disappear and reappear into the environment. By simulating nature in her costumed figures, she is referencing the human footprint and growing disconnect between the environment and contemporary consumer lifestyle.  The performance is to be interactive, giving viewers a form of scavenger hunt to find the performers, and the opportunity to participate in their respective worlds and to reconnect with nature on a more visceral level.
