Britt grew up in a little village called La Canada Flintridge nestled in
the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in Southern California. She fell
in love with printmaking at an early age inspired by the works of Angeleno
Pop and Folk artists alike.
While residing at the Women's Studio Workshop, Britt continued to work on
her Noir Studies. These imagined film stills, letterpress printed on a handmade
paper with a homemade recipe, narrate an apocalyptic crime scene in a land
once fruitful that has now become barren. Popular mythology tells the story
of El Fin del Mundo, which left
La Pacifica as the final frontier to the surviving fringe folk cultures.
Britt studied Printmaking at the University of Vermont, Fashion at Parsons
in Paris and Typography at the School of Visual Arts in NY. She is the Founder
and Creative Director of The Paper Moon Project: a Print Workshop & Paperie
located in Burlington Vermont and Los Angeles California.
