
Julie Evanoff received her MFA from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at
Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. While at Rutgers her drawing,
painting and printmaking converged into hand drawn animation projects. Her
non-linear psychological narratives confront personal and social paradox.
She is currently making prints and paintings inspired by her animations, moving
in a less representational direction.
Julie taught drawing and contemporary art seminar while a graduate student,
and went on to teach a class on identity and multi-culturalism at Rutgers University
in the fall of 2005. She is currently on an 8 week Dodge award residency at
the Women's Studio Workshop in Rosendale, NY, and will be on a Dodge award at
the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT for 4 weeks during March. Visit her
