Ora Schneider Residency Grant for Regional Artists

Ora Schneider residents Marian Shoettle and Kate Hamilton

Ora Schneider residents Marian Shoettle and Kate Hamilton created elements for their experimental event “DaDa spill ” during their residency.

The Ora Schneider Regional Residency Grant is for artists residing in Greene, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan and Orange counties. Gail Schneider Matlin (Ora’s daughter), gifted artist and former WSW board member, is funding these residencies, to honor her mother’s long time commitment to the cultural life in our community.

The grant will support two artists in month-long residencies in any of the Workshop’s studios. A $1500 stipend and unlimited access to the studios is included. Onsite housing can be arranged. Priority will be given to artists with experience and a working knowledge of etching/intaglio/monoprint, letterpress, hand papermaking, screenprinting, photography and ceramics.
