Chili Bowl Workspace Residency

Alayna Rasile

Chili Bowl workspace resident Alayna Rasile found inspiration for her surface decorations all around Rosendale.

Women’s Studio Workshop offers a limited number of special Chili bowl Workspace residencies to potters who make bowls for the annual WSW Chili Bowl Fiesta. At the Chili Bowl Fiesta, community members choose from over 800 handmade bowls filled with piping hot chili or drink.

Funds raised at the fiesta support WSW programming. The cost of the residency is $100/week and 50 glazed bowls or 100 bisque bowls, to be produced throughout the course of the residency.

Workspace Residencies are awarded through a jury process. For four to six weeks, selected artists have unlimited access to the studios and housing is provided.  Residency sessions are available all year.  Artists are given a thorough studio orientation at no charge, but should be able to work independently and artists must provide their own materials.
