Studio Workspace Residency

The Studio Workspace Residency is an opportunity for artists to  create new work  fully immersed in our supportive environment at WSW. We invite applications from artists at any stage of their careers. Located in the Hudson Valley, this residency gives artists a gift of time, an uninterrupted period to live and work away from the stresses of daily life. You may choose to work in any one or more of our studios: intaglio, letterpress, papermaking, screenprinting, photography, or ceramics.

Housing on site and 24/7 studio access is provided.  Artists receive a thorough studio orientation. Artists are expected to work independently although studio staff is always available to provide technical assistance. Extensive staff and intern assistance can be arranged for an additional fee. While you are required to provide your own expendable materials, WSW maintains a deep inventory of supplies and materials that you may purchase while in residence.

Workspace Residency Grants are a minimum of 4 weeks. While these residencies are highly subsidized (actual cost $5,000/month), $200/week  fee is charged to each awardee.

An outside jury chooses the residency recipients.
